Management Analytics Builder
An in-house analytics component for freely combining charts, metrics, and data slices. It extends the pivot-table concept: build complex views and explore data in different combinations. Load heterogeneous exports, validate data, and run hierarchical calculations without double counting.
The task
Give the business a way to explore management data independently: change breakdowns, combine metrics and build the views it needs, without developing a separate report for every question.
Our own analytical component
We developed a component that extends the pivot table principle. It allows users to freely combine charts, metrics and data breakdowns, work with several independent measures, and build complex analytical views.
The user reshapes the analysis to fit the question at hand. Report settings can be shared as a link so a colleague opens exactly the same view.
Data preparation
The engine accepts heterogeneous exports, validates them and records errors. When parsing hierarchies it separates subtotal rows from detail, so intermediate totals are not counted twice.
The system runs at a distributor: reports are organized by department, access is controlled, and the component is used for management reporting and data exploration.
