The task
Plan the use of a company’s own vehicles with regard to orders, delivery windows, load consolidation and trip economics.
Planning logic
The system supports the allocation of orders to trips and the evaluation of consolidation options. Planning takes delivery time, costs and empty mileage into account.
Adding a load to an existing trip is compared with a separate trip in terms of cost, time and additional vehicle movement.
Implementation
We combined routing, cost calculation and a planning interface. The map shows trips, vehicle movement, unloading windows and current statuses.
Operational constraints and economic calculations are used together when choosing a transport plan.
