Microbiome Research System
The system consolidates data on intestinal sections and their conditions, bacterial species, and bioactive compounds. Structured reference data and a library of scientific publications support research work.
The task
Bring together information about the sections of the intestinal tract, bacterial species, bioactive compounds and scientific studies into a connected research system.
The domain model
The tract map records acidity, bacterial density, dominant species and transit time for each section.
The species database combines taxonomy, role in the microbiome, substrates, metabolic products and resistance to compounds. For compounds, measurement conditions and the minimum inhibitory concentration are recorded.
Working with research
Interactions are linked to their sources. Contradictory results are stored separately, so differences between studies and experimental conditions are not lost.
We implemented a library of publications with study type and level of evidence, linked cards for each object, and a view of how a selected compound passes through the sections of the tract.
